Fox News Beats Networks in Election Coverage

Looks like free isn't a good enough price any more to make up for second rate content. Mediabistro reports:
At 10pmET, when the broadcast networks aired special reports, Fox News averaged 6.6 million viewers, topping No. 2 CBS which averaged 5.4 million viewers. This marks the first time during election coverage that Fox News topped all the broadcast networks in the A25-54 demo.
  • 10pmET: (Total Viewers | A25-54 demo)
FNC: 6,607,000 / 1,825,000 A25-54
CBS: 5,408,000 / 1,548,000 in 25-54
NBC: 4,225,000 / 1,484,000 in 25-54
ABC: 3,147,000 / 1,083,000 in 25-54
CNN: 1,936,000 / 912,000 in 25-54
MSNBC: 1,594,000 / 566,000 in 25-54
  • 8pmET – 11pmET:
FNC: 6,310,000 / 1,662,000
CNN: 2,107,000  / 909,000
MSNBC: 1,687,000 / 525,000

No wonder Lefties hate them, and refer to them as "Faux news" - they're so creative, aren't they? It's just amazing; they use that term all the time, apparently believing that it makes them somehow superior.

They should just go get a tattoo, to demonstrate their creativity and individuality. Just like the rest of the herd.

You're right it shows how the hatred on the left has put them way out of touch with the mainstream.

The sad part for the networks is that Fox is just reasonable coverage. So when reasonable coverage which has to be paid for stomps your coverage which is free, it isn't good news. (pun intended :-)

I actually can't remember the last time I watched Fox, MSNBC, or the other networks that people love to hate. We know that MSNBC features idiots like Rachel Madcow and Al Not-so-Sharpton.

And we know that Lefties always claim that anyone who disagrees with them is a faithful watcher of "Faux News". When they've run out of expletives to hurl, of course.

I get my news from national and international sources; I only watch tv for entertainment. Or local weather. That's how I found out that KGW had a free document-shred day yesterday. I love that service!

That's why your blog postings are so great, Max. You are not only not tied to the blah blah media, but you avoid it. :-)

Well, there's an interesting last comment, TD ;-)

Boy, he wants to cot American wymyn!

Whatever.

But to get back on topic here, Dish Network has just blanked Turner Broadcasting, so the Chicken Noodle News network isn't there anymore (unless, perhaps, they finally locate the Malaysian airliner). Cartoon Network's also gone, although it was admittedly difficult to differentiate between CNN and CN. Turner Classic Movies is off as well, which might be a bummer for folks who actually enjoy watching five minutes of movie interspersed with 20 minutes of ads.

In my view, CNN's become an absolute joke; they were pretty good 15-20 years ago, but they;re not a good news source any longer. I know that some folks really like TCM, but that's not a reason to keep the Turner networks around any longer, on its own. Admittedly, though, I don't watch that anyway. I purchase movies that I might want to watch more than once.

For actual news, it just seems better to go with local blogs like yours and to international sites.

ce8, just put the word "man" or "men" in every place that you now have "woman" or "women" and vice versa, and the thought works equally well.

"I am an American woman, and I have decided to boycott American men. In a nutshell, American men are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don’t know how to cook or clean, don’t want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent woman would want to get involved with American men?

"American men are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American men is utterly disgusting, to say the least."

People are generally flawed no matter of what sex or nationality. It's called the Fall of Man. Here's hoping we as individuals and as a nation turn to God for grace and help to become more like Jesus and less like what we are without His help.

Max, I noticed there was no CNN on Dish on election night. I take it this was not a true business decision since they still had MSNBC which is even more of a joke than CNN and had half the viewers.

I guess I should complain, but generally what Dish offers is not interesting to me--though it is to other members of my family. And neither CNN nor MSNBC make the cut with the other members. So, they don't care. Actually there are less than 10 channels (some of them religious) that my family watches. Sometimes, I wish we could subscribe on an individual channel basis.

CNN is also pulling its feed out of Russia, according to what I was reading a bit earlier today.

Amusingly, we seem to be in similar circumstances, TD: we have Comcast, and I don't spend much time watching (though I must admit, their broadband connectivity is excellent). The girls, however, would kill me in my sleep if I cancelled the tv feed; Bride likes soccer, daughter likes TCN and other weird stuff. I don't do sports, and apart from local weather reports, there's just not a lot that I find of interest.

Comcast still has CNN and MSNBC, but I'd rather watch their Latino channels (and I don't even speak Spanish).

Heh! Spoken like the A+ debunker you are, Max.
