Employment Increase: Alaska Leads Nation

The Bureau of Labor Standards reports that Alaska had the highest percentage increase in employment from April to May with almost a 1% gain:
"Alaska (+0.9 percent) experienced the largest over-the-month percentage increase, followed by North Dakota (+0.8 percent) and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Mexico (+0.2 percent each)."

North Dakota, under Gov. John Hoeven (R), was the only state to have a yearly increase (1.4%). Alaska, under Gov. Sarah Palin (R), was the only state to not lose jobs in the last year.
"Only North Dakota (+1.4 percent) reported an over-the-year percentage increase, and Alaska (0.0 percent) reported no over-the-year percentage change."
