Palin Was Right. Drill, Baby, Drill Has Worked!

My last gas purchase cost $1.99 per gallon. It seems the Democrats and media were wrong in pooh-poohing anything being able to bring the cost of gas down significantly (43%?) from $3.50 per gallon. Wasn't candidate Obama's plan in 2008 proper inflation of tires?

Sarah Palin today:
Apparently, the president is pretty proud, too. In his State of the Union address last month, he boasted about the surge in oil and gas drilling, saying, “We are as free from the grip of foreign oil as we’ve been in almost 30 years.” From the way he’s talking, you’d think he coined the phrase “drill, baby, drill.” But it was just three years ago while campaigning in Miami that he lectured, “We can’t just drill our way to lower gas prices.” Respectfully, Mr. President, “yes we can.” And yes we did. Average gas prices were well over $3 in 2012, but in the first months of 2015, they’re nearly $2, with some states enjoying even lower prices.
Oh, for Byron York and John Fund's benefit, the written version of the speech sounded pretty good. Not at all petty or bizarre.

Carefully omitting the fact that it was all done on private lands....

I have a Freddie's card, so I get gas for even less at Shell stations. I filled up a couple of days ago for $1.49 a gallon (premium gas - my Si works best with that).

Malthus. Was he right? Was he wrong?

Discuss.

Oh, that's right. The President was an affirmative action hire. Didn't need to have any arrows in his quiver. Good in the clubhouse. Hale fellow, well met.

And, you know, his pants have a really nice crease.

And now we see him taking his own picture in the White House. While the world trembles.

Nice crease, Prez!

$1.49, pretty nice, Max. My dad gets his gas at Costco, so he was buying for less than me.

As for leaving out that Obama did everything possible to stop more production, you can't expect him to not claim this given that he has no other positives. What's really strange is that his base isn't booing him.

OG, wouldn't you think that even a medium smart person would avoid saying they thought someone had a great future because of the crease in his pants? But to then publish it and stand by it? It shows the measure both of David Brooks and the New York Times.

Nicely creased pants are a good thing, but as you point out not the stuff to be able to take on the serious issues of life. Which is why there has not only not been progress under President Obama, but previous places of stability are falling into utter disarray. Who would have thought the Middle East could become measurably more unstable than it was under Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan and Carter. But, as bad as it was in their presidencies, it has all become much, much worse. Even Turkey is now fighting for stability.

Jimmy Carter must be ecstatic. (Haven't heard from him in awhile.) He left a mess, but not nearly as bad as the one this president is leaving. What was a joke at the beginning of the Obama presidency has come true.
